Tapton Hall of Residence

Accommodation is located at the University of Sheffield Tapton Hall of Residence. There are two kinds of room:

En-suite single rooms have their own bathroom. Bathroom facilities for standard single rooms are shared.

Accommodation is available Saturday 5 August - Friday 11 August (6 nights) or Sunday 6 August - Friday 11 August (5 nights).

The accommodation includes bed and breakfast and internet access for attendees' laptop computers.

We anticipate that most conference attendees will stay in Tapton Hall, which is conveniently situated (20 mins walk) from the main campus.

Tapton Hall accommodation should be booked either using the registration form available here or by using the separate accommodation form (PDF) or accommodation form (Word).

Deadline for booking accommodation at Tapton Hall is 5 July.

Hotel accommodation

Alternatively, conference attendees may wish to stay in a hotel in the city of Sheffield. A block of rooms at conference rates have been arranged at three hotels. Deadline after which the block bookings will be released is 5 July.

The largest independent hotel in Sheffield, The Rutland Hotel is walking distance from the main campus. We have a block booking of 20 rooms.

Novotel (****)

In the city centre, about one mile from main campus but minutes from the railway station, Crucible and Lyceum Theatres and the Millennium Gardens. Indoor heated pool and free use of a gym nearby. We have a block booking of 20 rooms. Please check with the hotel for Saturday night availability.

Holiday Inn Royal Victoria (****)

Grade II listed building in a quiet location only a short distance from the city centre. About 1.5 miles from the main campus, half a mile from the city centre. We have a block booking of 20 rooms. Please check with the hotel for Saturday night availability.
