Astronomical Metadata and the Semantic Web

Astronomical images and catalogues have lots of metadata -- pointing, exposures, filters, provenance and so on. I'll describe how these fit in to the Virtual Observatory (VO) in its quest to make redundant all those tedious treks off to Hawai'i and the Canaries, and how that in turn fits in with the Semantic Web and Web 2.0 (at which point the talk will have become so techno-hip it'll risk unhingeing its pelvis). There may even be a demo.
